Synopsis
The New York City newspaper *The Day* faces financial difficulties, with circulation declining despite editor Ed Hutcheson’s efforts to manage the paper. The publisher’s widow intends to sell the publication, a move that could lead to its closure. Hutcheson hopes to complete his exposé on a dangerous gangster before the sale is finalized.
