Der Gutachter: Ein Mord zu viel
Synopsis
Dr. Robert Siedler is a seasoned forensic psychologist who is tasked with preparing an expert opinion on Friedhelm Knecht, a mentally disturbed former alcoholic who has been in custody for an extended period. Based on his evaluation, Siedler concludes that Knecht should be released, and he is subsequently freed from prison. However, soon after, a murder occurs, and the evidence strongly implicates Knecht as the perpetrator. The suspect goes on the run, and as the case gains attention in the media, Robert quickly becomes the scapegoat and is blamed for the murder. Shaken by the turn of events, Robert questions whether he has made a mistake in his assessment for the first time—or if his expert opinion was correct and Knecht is actually innocent.
