Der Sohn

Katharina and her 16-year-old son Stefan live in a small town where everyone knows each other. Stefan was born with severe asthma, and Katharina has spent countless nights at his bedside, anxiously listening to his breathing. Her and her husband's care have accompanied Stefan's upbringing. Deep within Katharina, however, lies a growing doubt about whether she truly loves her child. As Stefan begins to develop sexually, his behavior becomes increasingly unsettling. He scares women during late-night walks through the city, approaches prostitutes outside a brothel, and watches couples having sex. When a young woman is found dead, Katharina begins to suspect that Stefan might be responsible. He gradually distances himself from her, becoming more aggressive in asserting his independence. When a second woman is found murdered, Katharina's suspicions are confirmed. The relationship between mother and son takes on tragic dimensions.
