Chef Dave Oberlin's career is in decline after a confrontation with a prominent food critic goes viral, leading to his blacklisting from top-tier restaurants. He takes a teaching job at a culinary arts school run by a friend. Meanwhile, cardiologist Nina Kirby is vying for a promotion at her local hospital, and the Head of Cardiology tells her she would be a strong candidate if she secures Dave to teach the Healthy Living seminars. Nina, however, has no interest in cooking and is reluctant to learn. With encouragement from her best friend Olivia, she agrees to enroll in Dave’s class. When Nina approaches Dave about the seminars, he is uninterested in working with her due to her lack of participation in class. In an attempt to convince him, Nina and Dave discover some unexpected common ground.
