Die Entdeckung
Synopsis
A little bumblebee grows weary of her monotonous routine and the dull lives of the other bumblebees. She decides to fly to the place of her dreams, where she encounters a frog who is also in search of something new. Despite their differences, the two animals form a friendship and begin an adventure together. The children’s animated film was successful in East German cinemas. However, older viewers interpreted it as a metaphor for their own yearning to escape—both from the monotony of daily life and, in some cases, from their geographically and politically restricted country.
