Die Mutprobe
Synopsis
After 16 years, Sabine returns to her hometown for a class reunion. She plans to leave for Vienna that same evening but has come back primarily because unresolved issues remain between her and her childhood love, Leonhard. Their reunion is marred by the disappearance of Leonhard’s daughter. The situation triggers a feeling of déjà vu in Sabine. She also learns of the suicide of her former best friend. Suspicions fall on Dr. Körbler, the village’s influential benefactor and her former teacher. Writing “Körbler loves children” on an anonymous note, she passes it to Leonhard. The missing girl had previously been tutored by Körbler, giving Sabine reason to suspect the outwardly benign old man.
