Synopsis
Animation has long served as a space for artists to freely express and explore their sexuality, from the works of Tom of Finland to depictions of Bugs Bunny in a dress. The documentary *Drawn This Way* explores when and how this artistic expression began, whether it is seen as a sexual turn-on, and the motivations behind artists' fascination with fantastical stories and characters. Hosts Andy Cheng and Cara Connors examine comic books, animated series, films, and video games to uncover the presence of LGBTQ characters and consider whether these works are taken seriously in the mainstream comic world.
