Ebre, del bressol a la batalla

In 1938, the Spanish Civil War has drained both armies and eroded the morale of the people on both sides. The differences between the Nationalists and Republicans are stark: the fascist forces receive unconditional support in arms and manpower from Hitler and Mussolini, while the Republican army is largely ignored by a Europe more preoccupied with the threat of a potential World War than with Spain's fate. Thousands of young people aged 17 and 18 are conscripted into the Republican army. These recruits form the central characters of the film, four young men for whom the Battle of the Ebro will be their first direct experience of war. The film follows these young soldiers as they are forced to abandon their innocence and face the reality of whistling bullets.
