Synopsis

Eddie is a New York limo driver and an ardent fan of the New York Knicks professional basketball team. When the team is performing poorly with a mediocre record, the new owner, "Wild Bill" Burgess, introduces an "honorary coach" contest as a publicity stunt in the middle of the season. Eddie wins the contest, and the fans respond positively. Impressed by the public reception, "Wild Bill" dismisses the current coach and replaces her with Eddie. She takes charge of the team, which consists of overpaid prima donnas.
