Synopsis
Rita is a 26-year-old hairdresser with a sharp wit who is eager to discover herself. She enrolls at the Open University, where she meets Dr. Frank Bryant, a disillusioned literature professor. Frank is going through a failed marriage, his new girlfriend is having an affair with his best friend, and he relies heavily on whisky to get through the day. What Frank needs is a challenge—and Rita is just the person to provide it.
