Ein Münchner im Himmel

Alois Hingerl, porter number 172 at the Munich train station, finds himself in heaven. St. Peter introduces him to the heavenly house rules: "rejoicing" and "singing hallelujah." However, "Angel Aloisus" is not particularly impressed, especially since he must now consume "heavenly manna" instead of Munich beer. His dissatisfaction grows further due to a few irksome incidents. In a fit of anger, he sits down on his cloud to rejoice and sing hallelujah, but his performance is so jarring that it causes the heavenly population's hair to stand on end. In his frustration, Alois does not hold back his words toward the Lord. The Lord, in turn, gives in and orders Alois to deliver a divine message to the Bavarian government. He is immediately sent to Munich with a corresponding letter. Upon returning home as "Angel Aloisius," he immediately goes to the Hofbräuhaus. To this day, the Bavarian government still waits in vain for the divine afflatus.
