Ein Sommer in der Toskana
Synopsis
Fashion reporter Laura Hansen's research in Tuscany accidentally uncovers that her late mother, Gloria, who spent 25 years of holidays in Prato, had an adulterous affair in Lucca with the now-deceased local gentleman Emanuele della Torre. Laura develops feelings for business attorney Alessandro della Torre, only to discover he is Emanuele's son and works for an Italian luxury brand that exploits thousands of Chinese sweatshop laborers, falsely marketing their products as "made in Italy" without adhering to European labor standards. As if the revelation about her mother's secret weren't enough, Laura and Alessandro become entangled in a complex web of deceit. —KGF Vissers
