Synopsis
Julie Douib, 34, a mother of two young children, had endured months of threats and beatings from her ex-husband and filed multiple complaints. On March 3, 2019, she was shot by her ex-partner in L'île Rousse in Haute-Corse. In a separate case, Laura Rapp, after several years of domestic violence, filed a complaint on the night of April 16 to 17, 2018, after her spouse attempted to strangle her in front of their two-year-old daughter. Following a year of pre-trial detention for attempted homicide, her ex-spouse was released pending trial.
