Synopsis
This non-narrative animated film, inspired by composer François Couperin's harpsichord piece "Barricades mystérieuses," showcases Jacques Drouin's innovative use of the pinscreen for animation. Drouin tilts the screen and employs low-angled lighting to capture images in high relief. The outcome resembles a sculpture, with its meticulously modeled forms revealed through the film. The film is devoid of dialogue.
