Synopsis

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is a classic animated character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. First appearing in the 1927 short film *Poor Papa*, Oswald became one of Disney's most popular early characters. The character is known for his mischievous personality and distinctive appearance, including his floppy ears and buckteeth. Although Mickey Mouse eventually overshadowed Oswald, the character remained a significant part of Disney's early animation history. In 2006, Disney regained the rights to Oswald after decades of ownership by Universal Studios, allowing the character to return to the Disney fold. Oswald has since appeared in various modern Disney projects, including shorts, theme park attractions, and merchandise.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 4

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
