Synopsis

In the 1950s in Stockholm, Erik is expelled from his local school after getting into one brawl too many. To shield Erik from his violent stepfather's anger over the expulsion, Erik's mother arranges for him to attend Stjärnsberg Boarding School, the only institution willing to take him in. This is Erik's final opportunity to qualify for Upper School, and he promises his mother, for both their sakes, to do everything possible to stay out of trouble.
