Executive Protection

After a previous assignment caused a stir, Falk was reassigned to a desk job, a position that conflicts with his nature. He eventually accepts an offer from an old friend to buy into a private investigation agency. Another friend, Sven, had purchased a business in Estonia, but local gangsters tried to extort him for protection money. Sven hired Nikolaus Lehmann, a robust private investigator, to deter them. However, Lehmann went beyond his role, killing the gangsters and then threatening Sven and his family. With no other options, Sven turns to Falk for help. Falk agrees but quickly realizes the danger when Lehmann kidnaps Falk's wife, Jeanette, and later releases her with a time bomb attached to her neck, demanding that Falk transfer ownership of his detective agency to him.
