Synopsis
A vivid exploration of the mysterious underground world of mycelium and its fruit—the mushroom. The story begins 3.5 billion years ago, highlighting fungi's role in creating soil that supports life, connecting root systems of plants and trees across the planet, akin to an underground Internet. Through the perspectives of renowned mycologist Paul Stamets, professor of forest ecology Suzanne Simard, best-selling author Michael Pollan, food naturalist Eugenia Bone, and others, the film showcases the power, beauty, and complexity of the fungi kingdom.
