Fasten à la Carte
Synopsis
After suffering a head injury, the eccentric gourmet critic Gilles "Günni" Demmonget loses his sense of taste and smell, just as he is about to compete in a public cooking duel against his young rival, Paul Scheffke. Seeking a quick recovery, Gilles moves to a fasting hotel on the island of Sylt, recommended by his friend Risto. The isolation and tranquility, combined with abstaining from solid food, are intended to sharpen his senses and restore them fully. On the island, he not only experiences a turbulent reunion with fasting instructor Marit Hansen but also discovers that his former lover, Diana, has moved into the room next door.
