Synopsis
In 1917, outside the parish of Fátima in Portugal, a ten‑year‑old girl and her two younger cousins reported multiple apparitions of the Virgin Mary, who told them that only prayer and suffering would bring an end to World War I. As secular government officials and Church leaders attempted to compel the children to recant their account, news of the sightings spread throughout the country, prompting religious pilgrims to travel to the location in hopes of witnessing a miracle.
