Synopsis
*What Goes Around Comes Around* is a short film that explores the daily cycle of commuting from home to work and back, using collage, Hi-8 video, and painted animation to depict this routine journey. The film offers a layered and introspective portrayal of the experience, blending the conscious and subconscious mind's interpretation of urban life. Moving collages and painterly animation are overlaid onto Hi-8 footage, allowing the viewer to accompany the traveler on a two-mile walk from home to work. The Hi-8 footage is digitized and printed using an inkjet printer, then combined with drawings, text, and paint to create a subjective visual narrative. The film reflects how visual information is processed by the mind, capturing the traveler's idle thoughts, repetitive behaviors, and emotional responses to the mundane and challenging aspects of daily life.
