Flagpole Special
Synopsis
Commissioned for Creative Time’s RET.inevitable in 1998, *Flagpole Special* is a DV short film by Paul Thomas Anderson featuring John C. Reilly and Chris Penn appearing from the waist down. The film consists of the two actors riffing on pickup-seminar bravado and anticipates the "Seduce and Destroy" segment from *Magnolia*. Screened once under the Brooklyn Bridge as part of the event, the film was never officially released and is now considered lost.
