Flesh and Blood: The Hammer Heritage of Horror
Synopsis
Explore the most legendary horror studio of all time with this in-depth look at Hammer Studios, hosted by Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. As England's most successful independent film company, Hammer became known as the "fear factory" for its influential and often controversial contributions to the horror genre. The studio's history is marked by feuds, censorship battles, and a mix of good and bad luck. This retrospective features interviews with Hammer legends such as Raquel Welch, Veronica Carlson, Caroline Munro, Ingrid Pitt, Jimmy Sangster, Hazel Court, Martine Beswicke, Freddie Francis, Val Guest, and Ray Harryhausen. It also includes behind-the-scenes home movies and highlights from over 40 classic films, including *Horror of Dracula*, *Curse of Frankenstein*, *The Devil Rides Out*, and *Curse of the Werewolf*. The documentary offers a comprehensive look at one of the greatest names in horror.

How many hands made this film
The scale of the collaboration
Principal cast & crew: 15
These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.
Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.

Every stage matters — pitch decks and treatments from development, location scouts and table-reads from pre-production, set photos and crew anecdotes from production, edit-bay notes from post, and press kits, festival memories, or marketing ephemera from distribution.
