Synopsis
In the film, reporter Nicolaas Veul decides to set up his first Instagram account with the goal of accumulating as many followers as possible. As he progresses, he becomes increasingly interested in the social network's inner workings and uncovers a well-oiled system built on fraud. While users eagerly give likes to selfies, a thriving business in user accounts operates behind the scenes. There are large numbers of fake profiles, and internet bots are used to generate new followers for those seeking to appear more successful. The film questions whether anything on Instagram can be believed.
