Synopsis
A documentary that serves as a love letter from a young mother to her daughter, the film chronicles Waad al-Kateab’s life over five years of the uprising in Aleppo, Syria. It follows her as she falls in love, gets married, and gives birth to her daughter, Sama, amid the escalating conflict. Through her camera, she documents stories of loss, laughter, and survival. The film explores Waad’s struggle with an impossible decision: whether to flee the city to protect her daughter’s life or remain and continue the fight for freedom, despite the sacrifices she has already made.
