For Your Beautiful Eyes
Synopsis
*Pour vos beaux yeux* (For Your Beautiful Eyes) is an eight-minute surrealist short film directed by Henri Storck and based on an idea by Félix Labisse. In 75 shots, the film traces the journey of a young man who finds a glass eye in a park, becomes fascinated by its peculiar charm, and attempts, without success, to get rid of it by sending it through the mail. Henry Van Vyve stars in the lead role, with brief appearances by Labisse and his sister Ninette. The film presents a whimsical yet disquieting examination of obsession and absurdity, and was released just one year after *Un Chien Andalou*.
