Synopsis
After being orphaned by a Nazi air raid, young Parisian girl Paulette meets Michel, an older peasant boy, and the two quickly form a bond. Struggling to navigate the chaos and destruction of their surroundings, they attempt to come to terms with death by creating a burial site for Paulette's pet dog. However, Paulette's time with Michel's family is soon jeopardized by the brutal realities of life during the war.
