Synopsis
Lieutenant Laurel Hester is terminally ill and wants to leave her pension benefits to her life partner, Stacie, to help her afford their home. She is denied the right because they are not married. After a lifetime dedicated to fighting for justice, Laurel, a veteran New Jersey detective, initiates one last legal battle to secure justice for Stacie. *Freeheld* is a tense and emotional drama that follows the struggle of a dying police officer to provide for the woman she loves.
