From Hand to Mouth
Synopsis
A destitute man struggles to find food as he is joined by a young waif and her dog, both also facing hardship. At the same time, a dishonest lawyer collaborates with a group of criminals to defraud an innocent young heiress of her inheritance. While returning home from a meeting with the lawyer, the heiress observes the man and the waif dealing with trouble from the authorities and decides to help them. Eventually, the young man finds an unexpected chance to repay the heiress for her kindness.
