Synopsis

The plot follows a battle in which seventeen warriors defend their land against an army of thousands of trained soldiers. Set in the 13th century, the Mongol hordes under Batu Khan dominate much of the known world and advance toward Europe, invading the last remaining Russian principality that opposes them. Their campaign is challenged by a small group of strong men led by a mysterious warrior named Evpaty the Furious, whose actions emphasize courage, endurance and self‑sacrifice for their country.
