Game Time: Tackling the Past

Pro football star Jake Walker appears to be living the dream—or so it seems. The veteran tight end is a fan favorite and on track to set the all-time receiving yards record, a feat that would likely secure his place in the Hall of Fame. While training at camp, Jake receives a call informing him that his father, Frank, has suffered a major heart attack. Jake immediately leaves practice and returns to a small town he has avoided for 15 years. Memories of both glory and regret flood his mind as he reconnects with family and friends he once left behind in his pursuit of a career. Jake dutifully visits his father, but old wounds and misunderstandings begin to resurface. A second unexpected call, this time from his agent, delivers another blow: his contract is not being renewed, due to concerns about his surgically repaired knee. Suddenly, the life Jake has known is over.
