Synopsis
It is July 1895, and the New York elite have moved to Newport, Rhode Island for a summer filled with balls, garden parties, and yacht races. Emma Vanderbilt-Cross, a bold twenty-one-year-old writer with connections to the affluent Vanderbilt family, covers these events for the women's pages of the *Newport Observer*.
