Synopsis
No other band in rock and roll history has matched The Stooges' fusion of heavy, primal rhythms, sharp psychedelia, blues-inflected rock, and concise, angst-filled lyrics, led by a frontman who, with his snarling intensity and flamboyant presence, evokes the essence of Nijinsky, Bruce Lee, Harpo Marx, and Arthur Rimbaud. The Stooges have no direct predecessors, yet the number of artists influenced by them is vast. The film will explore the musical, cultural, political, and historical context of their emergence, recounting their experiences and challenges, tracing their inspirations, and examining the factors behind their initial commercial difficulties as well as the enduring impact they have left on the music world.
