Gods of Olympia

Set in a cafe located in downtown Olympia, Washington—the state capital—the story explores life in a progressive community known for its inclusive atmosphere, particularly welcoming to the LGBTQ+ population. The cafe serves as a gathering place for locals, especially gay men and lesbians, who come together for food and companionship. Among the characters are a Supreme Court Justice who performs as a drag queen, and a Lieutenant Governor who is preparing to publicly come out. The cafe's staff includes a manager who leaves to live with a billionaire from New York, and a dishwasher who develops feelings for the Lieutenant Governor. The billionaire is a Vietnamese software mogul whose previously unknown son visits the town. Also featured is a tech-obsessed college student who falls for a fellow student, while the local dating scene remains active. Other relationships unfold between a waiter who is drawn to a mysterious street person, and an assistant manager who is seeking career advancement.
