Groovie Movie

A boogie-woogie piano opens the film, which presents itself as a jitterbug lesson, featuring prize winner Arthur Walsh and his partner, followed later by other couples. The lesson begins with steps borrowed from other dances, such as the waltz, performed at an accelerated pace. Walsh and his partner then demonstrate some basic steps, though the movements are executed too quickly for the narrator to describe or for the viewer to learn. Toward the end, various couples (all but a briefly-seen pair of children are white), including some comedic pairs, perform a high-speed demonstration set to rocking and swinging music. These dancers are hep cats. Pete Smith's narration is filled with slang.
