Synopsis

Gülizar is a young and beautiful girl living in a village. At her family's request, she is betrothed to a young man from the village against her will. Her fiancé leaves for Istanbul to work and earn a dowry. Gülizar's life takes a sudden turn with the arrival of a new teacher in the village, İsmail, with whom she secretly falls in love. They eventually decide to marry. However, İsmail's death in an accident shatters Gülizar's world. After some time, her fiancé returns to the village with the dowry money. While Gülizar suffers the pain of losing her beloved without being able to share her grief, she is forced to marry her fiancé. Yet Gülizar remains the woman of the young teacher she loves. Her father is caught between tradition and his daughter, as according to custom, her honor can only be cleansed by her death.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 16

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
