Synopsis
“Hallelujah” is a queer/circus concept that explores religion and the importance of choosing kindness despite differences or beliefs. The piece reflects the struggles and rejection many in the LGBTQ community face regarding religion. It follows an individual grappling with the hate in the world and his partner who supports and uplifts him, reminding him of his inherent beauty. The message conveyed is that religion should promote kindness and openness, even toward those who may be misunderstood.
