Synopsis
Set 200 years before the birth of Christ, Rome is emerging as the dominant power in the ancient world, confident in its invincibility. Yet one man is destined to challenge this belief: a man driven by oath to avenge the wrongs done to his homeland. Hannibal, at the age of 26, masterminds one of history's most daring military campaigns. Determined to confront his enemies directly, he leads an army of 40,000 soldiers and 37 elephants on a 1,500-mile march across treacherous terrain to reach Roman territory. The scale and ambition of the journey are so extraordinary that few believed it could be accomplished.
