Hawaii, Oslo

*Hawaii, Oslo* is the story of a handful of people whose lives intersect, though they may not know each other, on the hottest day of the year in Oslo. The film follows Frode and Milla, a couple expecting their first child, who is diagnosed with a terminal illness. It also follows Bobbie-Pop, a once-famous singer attempting suicide. Leon, an institutionalized kleptomaniac, is searching for Åsa, with whom he has a ten-year-old promise to marry. Leon's brother, Trygve, retrieves him from the institution to celebrate his birthday, though Trygve himself plans to use his prison leave to escape. The angel Vidar, Leon's closest friend at the institution, is also a central figure; he perceives things others cannot and may be the one who can save everyone—except himself.
