Synopsis

H.G. (Corey Sorenson), a happy and openly gay man living in New York, is forced to return to Iowa to help his alcoholic father save the family farm. Feeling disconnected from his family, he nonetheless joins the effort alongside his father and a hired hand, Ryan (Lachlan Neiboer), who is also struggling to raise his younger siblings after the death of their parents. H.G. comes out to his high school sweetheart, Dawn (Taylor Gwynn), who reacts angrily and publicly out him to the town, causing his father to retreat into drinking. One night, while alone in the most desolate part of town, H.G. encounters Ryan and discovers that the farm hand is not the ladies' man others believe him to be.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 15

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
