Synopsis
This documentary by Herzog focuses on the Wodaabe people of the Sahara and Sahel region. It highlights the tribe's elaborate courtship rituals and 'beauty pageants,' in which young men compete to attract mates through the use of elaborate makeup, expressive posturing, and facial gestures.
