Synopsis
In a Tibetan village, the residents prepare for their difficult annual journey to trade salt for grain, with the community divided in its loyalties between the aging chieftain Tinle and the rebellious young man Karma. Tinle seeks to uphold his authority and maintain adherence to traditional customs, while Karma questions and resists the old man's leadership.
