This documentary follows Marriage Equality New York (MENY), an all-volunteer grassroots organization, as it becomes a key force in the fight for marriage equality in New York and beyond. The film highlights the group's efforts leading up to the legalization of same-sex marriage in the state and its impact on the Supreme Court case. Among those featured are Cathy Marino-Thomas, Edie Windsor, Christine Quinn, Senator Thomas Duane, Danny O'Donnell, Margaret Cho, and Cynthia Nixon. The documentary presents the challenges faced by the movement, including cultural, political, and religious opposition, and offers perspectives from both sides as history is made in the State of New York.
