Synopsis
Gerald Ballantyne appears calm and courteous, a man who lives and represents modern suburbia. However, he is tormented by the memory of a recent car crash and pursued by his estranged wife, who demands a divorce. Gradually, an underlying insanity begins to take hold, and he becomes unwilling to face the outside world. He initiates a bizarre experiment by confining himself to his middle-class home, cutting himself off from all contact with others and surviving solely on food he can find within his house. The story is based on J.G. Ballard's *The Enormous Space*.
