Synopsis
In this exploration of European horror cinema, actor and writer Mark Gatiss traces a chilling journey from the silent nightmares of German Expressionism in the 1920s to the Belgian lesbian vampires of the 1970s. He examines the black-gloved killers of Italian bloody giallo cinema and the ghosts of the Spanish Civil War, ultimately revealing how Europe's turbulent 20th century gave rise to its groundbreaking horror tradition.
