I Am Kalam
Synopsis
The film depicts the endurance of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming challenges and emphasizes the importance of education for underprivileged children. It is based on former Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and seeks to inspire impoverished families to educate their offspring. Written by DaGambit, the story follows Chhotu, whose peasant village is devastated by drought; his mother leaves him with his uncle Bhati, who operates a tea stall on the city outskirts. Chhotu, who adopts the name Kalam after the self‑made Indian president, soon outwits his uncle’s adult assistant and befriends a solitary boy of similar age who lives in a palace that has become a hotel.
