Synopsis
This black-and-white film is a tribute to Santiago de Cuba and its inhabitants, offering a depiction of Cuba as a visually striking nation shaped by a rich blend of Black and criollo cultures. The film incorporates historical imagery that illustrates the late eighteenth century, a period when Haitian slaveholders brought their enslaved people to Cuba following the Haitian Revolution.
