Synopsis

Igby Slocumb is a 17-year-old boy who is rebellious and sarcastic, and he is at odds with the restrictive world of old money privilege into which he was born. Living with a father who has schizophrenia, a self-absorbed and emotionally distant mother, and a younger Republican brother who is described as shark-like, Igby believes there must be a better life elsewhere and begins to seek it out.
