Investigative journalists from Disclose spent over a year examining the production chain of the furniture company IKEA, which generated 44.6 billion euros in revenue in 2022 and attracts over 5 billion visitors to its stores and website annually. Their investigation, spanning from the boreal forests of Sweden to Brazilian plantations and New Zealand coastlines, revealed how IKEA extensively uses wood worldwide, contributes to the illegal trafficking of the resource, and endangers the last valuable European forests. Intensive logging, long overlooked, is now causing public outrage and anger in Poland and the Baltic countries, where citizens are growing increasingly concerned about the future of their public forest areas and the loss of biodiversity. In Romania, where IKEA owns 50,000 hectares of forests, activists are putting their lives at risk to oppose the timber mafia. The film explores the expansion of a discreet forest predator, confronting the planet's resource limits.
