Il pirata: Marco Pantani
Synopsis
Cyclist Marco Pantani is known for his determination, which leads to victories in the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, the latter making him the only Italian to win that race. He also overcomes several serious accidents during his career. In 1999, his hematocrit level is found to be above the permitted threshold, marking the beginning of a downward spiral that eventually leads to depression and his death from drug-related causes.
